Like, how do drugs work, man? taste of science Houston is bringing medical doctors and neuroscientists to you this 4/20 to discuss how cannabinoids effect the brain, how your brain processes information in altered states, and the future of psychedelics in medical care. Dr. Spencer Greene

Spencer is a medical toxicologist and emergency physician. He will be discussing the pharmacology (the study of how drugs affect our body) of psychedelic mushrooms, jimson weed, morning glory and mescaline. He will also be examining these plants’ clinical features and how they are used in medical treatments.

Dr. Jonathan Flynn

Jon is a neuroscience professor at Rice University who specializes in computational neuroscience. He will be talking about making AIs hallucinate, theories on how the brain processes information during psychedelic experiences and how both help us understand how the brain works normally.
