Tampa’s taste of science Fall Kickoff!

Did you know that Tampa is home to several outstanding cancer research programs, ranging from the basic biology of cancer cells to clinical trials and patient wellness? We have been fortunate to interact with many incredible cancer researchers at previous taste of science events, and we will continue that tradition this year!

First up, hosts of Big Biology Dr. Art Woods, a Professor at the University of Montana, and Dr. Marty Martin, a Professor at the University of South Florida, will interview Dr. Joel Brown from the Moffitt Cancer Center about his studies of cancer evolution for a live podcast episode. Following the episode, we will switch gears and welcome Dr. Liem Quang Le, a licensed acupuncturist who uses his training to offer the benefits of acupuncture to Moffitt patients! Although they have very unique backgrounds and positions, Dr. Brown and Dr. Le both draw on their specialized training and knowledge of multiple disciplines to pursue their goals of improving patient care and well-being.

Please join us at the lovely c.1949 beer garden for this FREE event to kickoff the 2018-2019 Taste of Science season! Although free, tickets are required and available below.

Big Biology Interviews Dr. Joel Brown

Big Biology podcast hosts Dr. Art Woods and Dr. Marty Martin address unanswered questions in biology, as “scientists interviewing scientists.” Joining us in Tampa, the team will interview Dr. Joel Brown for a brand new, live episode. Dr. Brown is a Senior Member at the Moffitt Cancer Center who applies his background in ecology and evolutionary biology to better understand how patients’ tumors change. Combined with Drs. Martin’s and Wood’s own biological expertise, this is a conversation sure to entertain and educate!
