Earth Day 2020 #ArtEco

In celebration of the 50th year of Earth Day, we’ve asked our volunteers and followers to show us how they feel connected to our planet. From an Earth Day quilt to a poem calling us to action, check out these sentiments and submissions!

“As the theme of this year’s Earth Day is climate action, I thought featuring a quilt that highlights solutions to reverse global warming would be appropriate!”

“We have one planet. We have one chance. Let's make sure we create that future for our children & families.”

“What I've really been missing these days is looking at greenery. Hopefully one day my plants will grow in real life as much as they have in this illustration but for now I feel connected to the earth just by tending to my plants and watching them flourish.”

“For Earth Day, I present the way I connect with nature. My Saturday runs on the trails in central Florida might have little in common to those near my home town in Asturias but are beautiful places to get away from work, recharge and get new ideas.”

“As someone who has dealt with mental health challenges for my whole life, being connected to our world through nature really helps me stay grounded. Also, having pets really solidifies this relationship since I feel like they embody the essence of nature in their sentience.”

“As a native Brit I was overwhelmed by the weird and wonderful wildlife in Florida. One of my favorite places to observe it is my own backyard. I'm not much of an artist but I've captured so many beautiful creatures just using my phone. Florida is one of the places already being profoundly affected by climate change, and I fear for the kind of changes we will see in our ecosystems.”
