WKAR's Serving Up Science Podcast

  • Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center 219 S. Harrison Rd. East Lansing, MI 48824 (map)

We know — there are a ton of podcasts and a plethora of food and beverage blogs and programs. But how many are based in science and done in a way that you retain the information with a smile on your face? With that in mind, Serving Up Science was born in April 2018. It’s a podcast and weekly segment on WKAR-FM on Wednesday afternoons. Our host, Karel Vega teams up with MSU Food history and science writer, Sheril Kirshenbaum, to weave through scientific research, historical events, and popular culture to explore the origins of food or food products and their impact on the Earth. Find out for yourself what’s starting to make our podcast so popular! An episode on the science behind the popularity of pumpkin spice was cited in a Forbes magazine article.
