Circadian Rhythms: How your body keeps time and why it matters
Many aspects of lifestyle, such as diet, sleep, and exercise, contribute to health and performance. When we do these things changes how they affect physiology. Dr. Manoogian will discuss her research on how lifestyle interventions that optimize circadian health, such as time-restricted eating, can improve a variety of age-related diseases, including pre-diabetes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, mental health, and cognitive health.

Sleep is critical for everything. Memory to metabolism, maternity to immunity, sleep is at the core of how our bodies stay healthy. But sleep is not one thing, nor is more always better. Sleep is a response to physical wear and tear, but also to timing signals coming from all over our bodies. Each cell tries to synchronize its clocks with all the others, but how are they keeping time, what happens when social obligations gum up the gears, and what can you do to help your clocks help you?
