The Movie
Join us for our first ever Reel Science, where we're discovering the fact and fiction behind the movies. Our first feature is Dante's Peak, the volcano disaster movie that is going to be dissected by our expert volcanologist Dr. Mel Rodgers.
This will be an interactive event with pauses in the movie to discuss the plot. You bring the curiosity and we’ll provide the popcorn!
If not sold out, we will make tickets available at the door.
The expert:
Dr. Mel Rodgers
Mel is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida.
“I don't have one of those shiny silver suits, but I am a real life volcanologist. I fly drones to make maps of volcanoes, I also put out instruments that measure tiny earthquakes inside volcanoes. All of this to help us understand how volcanoes work, and how we can keep the people who live near them safe.”

The Venue
Corner Club, is one of our favorite hangs, with a great menu of drinks and snacks, but given how long we’ll have our butts in those seats, you might want to bring a cushion to enjoy the show.
