The impact of technology on healthcare may seem obvious, but the impact of specific technology on a specific medical specialties is less obvious. I will describe the challenges of a new technology impacting anesthesiology and describe a few projects that we have undertaken. Many of us will encounter surgery in our lifetime; how many of us will be impacted by new, meaningful innovation and technology?
