Shocks and Shifts: How Electric Fields and Hydraulic Fracturing Affect Wound Healing

  • Our house, your house, all the houses! (map)

2PM PDT | 3PM MDT | 4PM CDT | 5PM EDT

Skin is a complex multi-layered and multi-cellular tissue coordinating in space and time. Join us to learn more about how multiple skin or "epidermal" cell layers interact while affecting the behaviour of specific white blood cells during wound healing.

This event will go live on Crowdcast.

Meet the Speaker: Dr. Mugdha Sathe

Growing up in India, Mugdha lived in six states and went to seven schools. After finishing university, she moved to Bangalore to join the National Centre for Biological Sciences for her Ph.D.. Here, she was co-advised by Profs. Satyajit Mayor and Mukund Thattai. For graduate work she looked at how curvature sensing proteins shape plasma membrane to make endocytic vesicles. After her Ph.D., she ‘migrated’ to Seattle to join the lab of Prof. Julie Theriot at the University of Washington to study cell migration of immune cells in complex environment in the context of wound healing in the zebrafish model system.
